Black And White

I could not be happier about this super short week we have ahead of us. I have been running around the past few weekends for events and wedding related errands. I can't wait to just kick back, relax, and eat a delicious home cooked meal (I'm way too guilty of abusing seamless lately). Before I fall off the grid for the next few days to spend much needed time with my family, I wanted to share a cold-weather related post to inspire you to think about warmer layers as we near the end of November.

Lately, I've been reaching for this stunning Jacquard Adrianna Papell coat that features beautiful black and white floral design all throughout. I own what feels like a trillion traditional peacoats, so once I laid eyes on this stunning statement jacket, I quickly knew it would become one of my outerwear staple pieces...and it has. I love the elegant a-line silhouette and chic asymmetrical zip-front. This jacket is lightly lined and serves as a cozy and stylish layering piece for the cooler months.

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Fringe x ASOS

Outfit Details: ASOS Velvet Dress With Fringe Sleeve (c/o), Surlia Over The Knee Boots, Emma Sunglasses, Madewell Layering Necklace (also love this stone mix)

If you can't already tell, today's post is all about the fringe! I've teamed up with ASOS and a group of blogger friends (The Rachel Ross, Stilettos and Sequins, Visions of Vogue, Upbeat Soles, & Foggy Day Studio) to show you not one, but six different ways to style fringe this season! It's so fun to see how each girl incorporated her own personality into the trend. For my outfit, I chose to style this berry-colored swing dress with fringe sleeves. I was mostly attracted to the loose fit and overall bohemian feel to the dress. The fringe sleeves add another layer of dimension and it's a great outfit choice for all the fun holiday parties that are quickly creeping up on us.

For a more structured look I decided to add a belt which really helped draw attention to the fringe details. I can't wait to re-style the dress with a big comfy shearling vest! For more fringe inspiration be sure to stop by each one of the girl's blogs below. I promise you won't be disappointed. I can't even begin to pick a favorite because I adore each of their outfit selections.

Downtown Girl

Outfit Details: Adrianna Papell Printed Scoop Neck Dress c/o (and how lovely is this dress too?), Coach Patent Leather Chain Clutch (similar), LuLu*s Black T-Strap Heels (similar), RomanLuxe Statement Ring (see more styles here)

If you don't already own a figure-flattering and sophisticated long sleeve dress, then I suggest putting this Adrianna Papell dress at the top of your shopping list. It's so soft and doesn't feel constricting at all. I hate when I fall in love with a fitted dress, but it squeezes me in all the wrong places. Thankfully this dress is comprised of polyester and spandex. It's so flexible and can be worn all day long without a bit of uncomfort. The deep floral print makes it perfectly festive for all the holiday parties that are just around the corner ;).

Enjoy your week and happy shopping!

The Mint Boutique

Outfit Details: Shop The Mint Blanket Scarf + Adele Poncho (c/o), Madewell Skinny Jeans, Marci Quilted Booties by Adrianna Papell, LC Lauren Conrad Stud Earrings, Gucci Handbag

Nothing quite compares to big cozy blanket scarves and they are arguably one of the best accessories for the fall season. They are super stylish and the bigger the scarf - the more fun ways to style it. Take this cream plaid scarf from The Mint for example, it can be styled as a cape, draped over the shoulders and belted for a more sophisticated look, or even simply tossed around your neck for a more classic ensemble. This is actually the very first blanket scarf I've ever owned and I've come to realize that no matter how it's styled, it always looks so chic. The biggest benefit? You can snuggle up at your desk with it and no one will do a double take if they saw you wearing it as a scarf earlier in the day. Now you know my secrets ;).

Another item that I continually wear throughout the season? Sweater ponchos. You can't go wrong with this piece and they are so easy to style. How festive and fun is this adele poncho from The Mint? The color is so rich and the material is so comfortable. It's outfits like this that make me wish I could wear the same thing every single day!

If you're interested in loading up your closet with more fun fall pieces head on over to The Mint to browse their latest collection. Both items featured above are under $50. Don't forget to give them a follow on Instagram because I'll be hosting a fun giveaway this week that you won't want to miss out on. Check my insta page soon for the details!

Belted Vest

Outfit Details: Topshop Sleeveless Belted Vest, JCrew Trousers (also love this pair), Halogen Olson Pointy Toe Flats, Emma SunglassesDear Hannah Clutch

There's something so refreshing about this sleeveless belted vest from Topshop. It provides just the right amount of warmth, but doesn't add any extra bulk. Sometimes I feel a little lost in faux fur vests, which is why I started looking for alternative layering pieces for the cooler months. Don't get me wrong, I own a handful of cozy shearling and faux fur vests, but there's a time and place for everything! This belted vest not only provides shape with the cinched in silhouette, but the color is so chic and practical. It can be tied at the waist as a coat or it can be draped open as a true layering piece. I prefer it tied at the waist. It looks so polished and balances the smart-casual vibe.

I'm wearing a size 2 and it fits perfectly to my frame. You can view the full collection of sleeveless vests here. Happy shopping!

Fall In The West Village

Outfit Details: Adrianna Papell Front Zip Dress and Marci Quilted Bootie (c/o), BCBGeneration Faux Fur Vest (similar here, here and here), Zara handbag (also love this one)

Brownstone-lined streets, chic corner cafes, hidden gardens, and a mix of culinary temples perfectly describes my favorite neighborhood in Manhattan, the West Village. Maybe it's because I started my career down the street off Houston and spent so many of my growing young adult years here, or maybe it's because it's quiet, tucked away, and feels straight out of a movie set. If you visit the West Village often then it's possible that you will find yourself walking onto sets. Not too long ago I literally bumped into Deborah Messing while she was filming The Mysteries of Laura. For the record, she is strikingly gorgeous. It was pouring rain at the time I saw her and not a hair was out of place. She just radiates beauty.

This is my favorite time of year to explore the village because of all the festive doorsteps. I always make sure to layer my outfit for the occasion. Thankfully, the weather has been mild lately so no need for bulky coats. An oversized faux fur vest paired with a long-sleeved dress and ankle booties does the trick. How stunning are these quilted leather booties from Adrianna Papell? The sharply pointed toe adds sophistication to the bootie and I also adore the subtle heel. I felt this zip front shirtdress complemented the booties really well. The rich purple hue is perfect for fall and I love the contemporary, yet chic zipper front and drawstring waistline. The 3 C's are always top of mind when I'm grabbing pieces from my closet and dressing for fall: cozy, cool, and chic...I may put a little extra emphasis on the cozy ;).

Hope this outfit inspires you to get outside and take a long stroll before the harsh temps roll in. Have a great week!
